Since Bob the Alley Cat appeared in 2012, Bob and James have become world-famous. The story of author James Bowen, a drug-addicted London street musician who found his way back to a healthy life through the presence of his adopted alley cat Bob, attracted a lot of attention. After Bob the Alley Cat , he wrote The World According to Bob and Bob's Christmas Party.

In Bob's Christmas , James looks back on the last Christmas he spent with Bob on the streets. It's December 2010 and London is covered in snow. Bob helps James through one of the toughest times of his life. For a busker, these are bad times. Soon James finds himself short of money and struggling to make ends meet. He struggles to stay alive, but perhaps even more so to keep his spirits up. Luckily, he always has Bob. James draws strength and inspiration from his extraordinary cat, gradually learning the true meaning of Christmas.
