the drinking bowls
After playtime, a good drink of water is essential to replenish your cat's energy. With these Tabby Tiger ceramic drinking bowls, your little tiger will do just that in style. Each bowl is crafted from ceramic with a matte glaze and features a stylish bamboo holder, giving it a beautiful Scandinavian look.
Water is just as essential to a cat's survival as it is to humans. 60-70% of their body weight is water. If your cat's current water bowl is deep and narrow, it could touch her whiskers, which is uncomfortable. The Tabby Tiger water bowl has a wider surface area, providing more space for drinking.
How much should your cat drink per day?
The amount of water your cat needs to drink depends on her size, activity level, health, and diet. If you're having trouble getting your cat to drink water, there are a few ways to encourage her.
Place drink bowls EVERYWHERE!
Location is key. Place a few water bowls, such as the Tabby Tiger Drinking Bowls, throughout your home. Don't place water bowls near her litter box. This can make her uncomfortable and cause her to stop eating, drinking, and using her litter box. She also doesn't like having her food and water bowls close together.
Make sure there is the same amount of water in the bowl every day.
Be consistent in maintaining the water level. Don't let it drop to the last few drops, and don't fill it to the brim one day and then only halfway the next. Stay consistent. Some cats start dipping their paws because they're unsure where the top of the water is on any given day. Cats appreciate consistency in their daily routine.
Fresh water, every day!
Fill the bowl with fresh water daily. Cats are very sensitive to taste, and if the water sits for too long, it will start to taste stale. Food and dirt particles can accumulate in the water, which can affect the taste and also creates an opportunity for bacteria to build up. Dipping your cat's paw in the water also contributes to bacterial growth, as that paw may contain dirt, dust, and debris from using the litter box or just coming in from the garden.
Clean the drinking bowl every day.
It's fine to add fresh water every day, but clean the bowl itself daily as well. Hair, dirt, saliva, and food can stick to the sides. Wash the bowl with a drop of dish soap and then thoroughly rinse away all traces of soap before refilling it with fresh water. Traces of dish soap can burn your cat's tongue and also give the water an unpleasant taste. So be careful!
