We haven't tried the spring yet, but the rod itself is certainly very useful. My cats both have a completely different hunting technique, the 4-year-old cat hides and then suddenly comes running, after which you can hardly get rid of the prey, while our 10-month-old kitten keeps running like crazy after the prey and also jumps into its prey. grabs the air. A downside is that our kitten likes to bite the wire, probably because it is black, because he does not do this so quickly with a transparent wire. However, a textile thread is much safer than a transparent plastic thread, so we take that for granted. The rod is very sturdy and safe because of the plastic that surrounds the clip, so my cats cannot simply get a protruding piece of metal in their mouth!
My 4-year-old cat is a master at holding onto his prey, so as soon as he gets hold of the sparrow that I currently have on the fishing rod, it takes a lot of effort to get it loose again. Very nice fishing rod, when they pull it it bends, but I never think for a moment that it will break.
The bird on it is a great success. Never seen them jump so high! Just don't think that the bird will last very long, it will have a hard time!

My cat plays with it a bit, but gets tired of it quickly. She is a little older (approx. 12 years) and therefore perhaps less playful. I personally think the bird would have been better if it had been a little smaller.

We got the first one as a gift for Tosti when she was still a kitten. She demolished all other rods within a day, we have had your rod for 1.5 years now! She soon realized that the toy is on a string, but it is really impossible to demolish it. Great fishing rod! We immediately purchased it for our new kitten and she absolutely loves it.
